Another scenic attraction in Lihue is the Alekoko Fish Pond. The place provides you with a panoramic view of the Nawiliwili Port and Huleia River. The pond was described by historians as solely created for a royalty couple in Hawaii and was solely created for the purpose of breeding fish; though at present a section of the pond is used as an oyster-bed.
